Wednesday, But Sorta Thursday

Welcome to Wednesday, home of The Wednesday Night Bullet Post!  We like Wednesday.  We especially like it when it is more like Thursday even if it really isn't.  Let's go straight to the bullet points:

*My Cheerful Teaching Assistant headed off on a field trip with one of the sixth grade teams this morning.  My Other Cheerful Teaching Assistant left early for a doctor's appointment.  This left Ms. Sheep to man the fort for the day.

*Not a big deal.  Lots of teachers teach all by their lonesomes all day.

*But when you have students who don't go to other classrooms, lunch or recess then you have a long day ahead of you.

*The poor kid who was stuck with me for seven and a half straight hours today wondered aloud if there was anyone else in his life with whom he spent as much time.  He then suggested that we might need some "apart time."

*We do.

*By the late afternoon, I was giving pop quizzes on how many cartoon references I'd made throughout the day and awarding points for correct answers.  Everyone missed the Code Lyoko one.

*That's understandable.  It's kind of obscure.  But the Big, Fluffy Kitty likes to watch it and it's how I get out the door in the morning.  It distracts her...

*There were no consequences for knitting on the Invisibility Shawl yesterday during the final hours of April Fool's Day.  We can all breathe again.  It looks fine.

*Taking last week off from the workouts was really quite pleasant.  I enjoyed it immensely.  I am not enjoying resuming them.  Not at all.  I suspect that I may be burning more calories through the vigorous gestures and hurling of expletives.

*It is also the week that I add time to the biking routine.  I'm up to 80 minutes.  My ankle hurts.

*Does anyone know what carpal tunnel feels like when it starts?  I'm getting these weird wrist tingles when I extend my right arm during bench presses.

*I am probably looking for an excuse to stop doing bench presses.  Feel free to not participate in my actively seeking permission to sit on the couch and eat cookies.  I don't want anyone to feel like an enabler...

*I have a dentist appointment on Friday.  I hate going to the dentist.  I never used to.  But, I really hate my dentist now.

*Hatred for one's dentist, however, causes one to want to not have to go there very often.  And to floss with great determination.  Which is why I keep going to the mean dentist.

*But, I'm still giving myself a day off for being such a good girl and going to The House Of Bleeding Gums And Completely Unasked For Commentary On Society.  It's the least I can do for myself.

*Which is why today is kind of like Thursday only with bullet points.  Friday is a freebie!

*I should probably do my taxes while I'm at it.  That should cap off the whole day rather nicely.

*Meh...it's still early.  I have days and days left to get those done.  Best to not rush it.  Doing the taxes always makes me all "clenchy."  I should just wait a bit longer.

*Being "clenchy" on a day you go to the dentist could result in lockjaw or something.  And I'm sure the Internal Revenue Service doesn't want that.  They seem like such a kind and understanding agency, after all.

*What could possibly go wrong with that plan?

Happy Wednesday... or Thursday.  Whatever.  I'm all done with the workout, have knit a bit more on the shawl and made myself some nice pasta for dinner.  As it is Sort Of Thursday, I don't think it would be too out of line to maybe even have one of those chocolate eggs I picked up at the half price sale after Easter.  It is kind of like the weekend, right?

Or maybe I should hold off on that.  There's the whole dentist thing to consider.  And I may need to bribe a tax collector in the near future...

*lol* I enjoy your bullet posts. Sounds like it's been a tough day, so you deserve to not have to think to hard tonight.

I missed Monday because of a training so today feels like Tuesday to me. I'm easily confused.

Code Lyoko is one of E's favorite shows. I wonder if she would have picked up on the reference.

Eighty minutes of biking is amamzing! Lately I've noticed my left knee hurting when I pedal and I'm going for way less than your 80 minutes.

Amamzing? I think I made a new word. I meant amazing.

I would have missed the reference, too. Number Guy was down in DC today - so I am not sure what day it is. I mean, I taught and took Neantik to Daisies and those things happen on Thursdays normally but still - not a normal day.

Time for some time apart from my computer and some quality time with my b'ankie.

Night-night.

Now I'm really confused. I read your Tuesday post this morning and thought to myself, "Oh I must have missed Sheepie's WNBP and this is Thursday's I'm reading." And now you're telling me it is ACTUALLY Thursday? I really have no idea what day it is anymore. But does it really matter when you work 7 days a week? I think not.

I would even be willing to go to the mean dentist to get a day off work. It's kind of hard for me to justify the whole day off for a dentist appointment though. My dentist's office is right around the corner from my office, which is all of 3 miles from my house. It'd have to be some serious appointment to justify a day off.

80 minutes on your little bike?! You are one serious sheep.

I say you need to let that ankle rest til after the dentist appt. Then, of course, you'll need the weekend off then...it's back to work so by then you will need choc comfort.

You see why I am working back up to biking 10 minutes a day.

The older I get the more I dislike going to the dentist. Mine is very nice and loves to chat but when he has that drill in his hand he seems a little distracted by the chatting.
Don't forget to do your taxes. The IRS is crankier than the dentist.

I am definitely not a doctor, but weird tingling *does* sound like carpal tunnel syndrome...

It can't really be due to bench pressing, though - carpal tunnel syndrome is a repetitive strain injury and could very well be caused by knitting (either too much or with your wrists in an awkward position)...

I know a few friends with RSI and it's really awful. Too many people ignore it and become quite literall y handicapped for several years.

Yeah, I still need to do my taxes too. I have only gotten as far as to gather up the papers I will need to do them. Hard to believe I have a Master's in Accounting. :)

In my opinion, if it only happens when you extend your arm, it's not carpal (yet); maybe something is getting pinched. My guess is a sports medicine doctor would be able to advise you on how to hold your arms so it doesn't happen.

Have another cookie, on me.
