OK...enough with the Mole Of Disturbing Dimensions. It is gone forever from my life and will never again be the cause of commentary from my doctor or students who want to know if I am really a witch. I realize that, to the blogging world, it may not have looked like much. But it was an issue for me given its growth rate so I'm glad to have it gone. I am also glad to have the swelling reduced...that was also not a good look for me. I promise to spare you the pathology report...
After a momentary surge of panic from Hysterical Mind this morning after she noted the expiration date on the antibiotic ointment (2005) we all agreed that a trip to the grocery store might be in order. The storm predicted for tomorrow is going to be much less than anyone thought, but it made sense to get the shopping done while I had a day off. And HM was pretty much convinced that we were going to die from blood poisoning if we didn't get fresh ointment for The Scar That Is Bigger Than The Actual Mole. I had high hopes for the presence of the oozing scar perhaps fending off the shoppers who like to converse with The Sheep in the market and this actually went fairly well. There was the one guy who accused me of taking all the pencil sharpeners in the office supply section (I was picking up some items for my class store) but I think he was attempting to be jovial and I didn't take it personally. I only had four so there was really no reason to think that I was actually being accused of sharpener hoarding. I mean, in the event of plague, famine or pandemic flu, I find it hard to believe that there is going to be a run on cheap, plastic pencil sharpeners. However, if I am wrong on this one, I'll be perfectly willing to share.
The happy news is that I spent the rest of my de-swelling and sleeping-sitting-up-time most productively! There is now a completed sweater back and left front sitting in the WIP basket. The right front has been cast on and is coming along nicely. There is something to say for having a little of the extra time on my hands! I'd show a picture but the sweater components, being of the fleece that fought me through each and every step of the washing, dyeing, carding, spinning and plying process has remained true to its nature. It is also fighting me on the knitting and is currently curled up in little tubes of stockinette. Not really the best work for the camera, I fear. If I can forcefully block it into some semblance of submission then I will see if I can't get a picture up.
Happy end of the week to all and I'll see you on Saturday!

It certainly is amazing what a couple days off work can do for the knitting! HM was right in suggesting you get the shopping done; the weathermen just can't be trusted. When they say we're getting a lot of snow, we get just about nothing so I'm thinking they quite possibly could be wrong this time as well and we may end up with a foot!
"There's a bad storm coming? Quick! Buy more pencil sharpeners!!!"
I can't wait to see the sweater. You're really cruising on it!
I am so glad the MODD is no longer an issue. Scars fade. Besides, the chicks dig 'em. Kids, too. They think they are cool from what I remember. So you're the reason pencils in the Midwest are suffering from dull-itis. See? That econ class is teaching me something about supply and demand after all! ;-)
I took my inspiration from you and worked diligently on the vest. The neckline is shaping up (no pun intended)! Still a few concerns over picking up and knitting the edges of the neck and arm holes - but we need not worry about this today :o)
I'm glad you have been productive and have been enjoying your convalescing time. I can't wait to see the sweater!

I'm very jealous of the progress that you are making on the sweater. Hmmm...maybe I need to take several days off (cough, cough). I'm glad the MDD removal recovery is going well. Have a wonderful weekend!
I am working on a vest that I don't even remember when I started, it has been languishing unloved for so long, it is time to see the light of day.

I'm looking forward to seeing your sweater when you are ready to debut it. I'm so glad you are past the MODD and it sounds like HM is beginning to calm down, now that you have more antibiotic ointment and pencil sharpeners (in case you need to write your last words, because the MODD scar is full of gangrene, and only find dull pencils, right?)
