Not Bullets

Snowballs.  Tonight, we have snowballs.  Or we will.  Winter in Maine is an interesting thing, if nothing else.  And this season's offerings are particularly noteworthy.  So, instead of The Wednesday Night Bullet Post, we are having The Wednesday Night Snowball Post.

It was funnier in my head...

*Yes.  We are having another major weather event tonight.  By morning, I anticipate somewhere between five and ten inches of the white stuff laying all over the place.

*It was supposed to start getting yucky sometime today.  I had an inkling that we might be dismissed early from school.

*My inkles failed me.  It was a full day.  I am now very mistrusting of my inkles and hesitate to make further inkle-related predictions.  I'm a mere shadow of my former inkling self.

*I still think that we may not have school tomorrow, though.  But, I don't dare speak with any authority nor do I feel comfortable giving in to my inklings.

*This will not stop me from staying up just a bit later tonight.  It never does.

*I first started knitting on circulars because I kept forgetting to bring the second needle with me.  Now I do it because I have realized it is better.

*I recently read in The Knitter's Book Of Yarn that many continental knitters prefer working with circs.  I thought I was an innovator, that I was the first to think of this brilliant plan.

*Notes to self:  Don't trust inkles.  Don't put, "innovator" on your resume.

*Because I have not inkled, but still think tomorrow will be a snow day, I keep thinking it is Friday.  This is going to come back to bite me in the tushie.  I just know it.

*My back is feeling ever so much better.  This is good since I shall probably do something horrible and vile to it while moving snow to find my truck tomorrow morning.

*I should knit myself a husband.  I hear they are handy in these sorts of situations.

*My Cheerful Teaching Assistant, who also happens to be all youthful and spry, expressed concern today regarding my ability to feed myself in times of back-spasming crisis.  She suggested one of those grocery delivery services to ensure that food comes to me.

*I suggested that perhaps I might qualify for Meals On Wheels.

*This was really just self-defense.  It was only a matter of time before she thought of it.  She's sharp, that one.  And doesn't fear me the way a good underling should.

*Addendum To Notes To Self:  Become a more tyrannical sort of supervisor.  It's easier than taking potshots at yourself to divert others from doing it first.

And thus ends another fascinating round of random blogging courtesy of your faithful Sheep.  I must now be off to continue feeding my current obsession with knitting wee, little baby thingies and checking the weather reports.  Who knows?  Perhaps tomorrow will restore my faith in my inklings.  I might be correct in my assumptions.  There may be a day off in my near future.  I may be home tomorrow knitting more of the wee, little baby thingies.

Or, the inklings are utterly on the fritz, palm trees shall spring up overnight and I'll be forced to dig out that tube top I keep threatening to wear.

I hope things are well with you. I,too, have a back that pops but I never hear it, just feel it. I am a big fan of the minty smelling cream that one places on sore places and I consume way more ibuprofen than is probably good for me but hey, whatever gets me back to work, right? One cannot have too many "occurrences" as our HR folks call them. If one has too many, one ends up in the "disciplinary process" which is a very bad thing. And I can't wait to read Duma Key. I haven't had a chance to get to the bookstore. Maybe Friday.....

Well, seeing as the snow has started, I'd say your inkles aren't totally off. It remains to be seen if I'll be making it home in the morning or napping here at work for a while.

I'm guessing you have snow already; we right on that transition line and are getting a bit of the freezing rain right now. Much as I hate to say it; I'd rather have snow (even though that doesn't mean a day off work for me).

I just checked the weather. You are looking very good for a snow day.

Wear your jammies inside out.

Just to be sure.

I really enjoyed the part about you and the CTA. Is she still knitting? It must be a lot of fun to work with you two. :)

I'd say your inkles are spot on. We just got 14" and it should pick up some moisture over the Great Lakes. Have fun!

Like Trek says - wear the jammies inside out.

Hey, if I wear my jammies inside out, will it snow here in SoCal? I didn't think so. Oh well. There is snow on the mountains and it was looking very pretty till the smog moved in and hid it all. I think I'd rather have a snow day...

Let it snow...let it snow!!! It's finally REALLY snowing here in BC, I love it. Can't believe that I ever actually thought I'd miss REAL winters (aka as in tons of snow) but I have been since we moved here. I digress....embrace the snow oh Sheep, fear not the commute whatever form of transport that may take. And no, it is NOT time to pull out that tube top (at least not for a month or two!!!)

Stay warm, drive safe...watch out for those inkles!!!

I'm glad your back is feeling better but don't over do with too much snow removal.
I hope you were right and had no school or at least a delay...

I hope you're home knitting wee baby things even as we speak! Y'know, the more you say untrusting things about inkling in public, the less they're going to stand by you...
