Whoosh! It's Wednesday!!!

There is an upside and a downside to having holidays fall on a Tuesday.  The upside is that you are not working on a Tuesday because it is Veterans Day.  The downside is that you have to go back to work on Wednesday and you won't have a clue what day it is.  It feels like a Monday, a Wednesday and a Friday all rolled into one.  You're all jumbly-brained at the end of the day.  Thankfully, there is the Wednesday Night Bullet post to look forward to.  That is a no-brainer so it doesn't matter if you can't interpret the calendar.  Here's your bullet points!

*The "dishcloth" moves forward.  I am almost at the point where I can begin the ribbing for the neck.

*Note:  We will call it the "dishcloth" until the last possible second.  If we speak its true name then the Evil Forces That Hate It When I Knit Things With Sleeves will hear and there will be all sorts of nasty smiting.

*Smiting is messy and I don't feel like cleaning up after the Dark Powers tonight.

*The other thing that makes this Wednesday After A Day Off kind of yucky is that one of my Teaching Assistants is out for the rest of the week.  She had surgery yesterday and it seemed like a good idea for her to not drag herself in.

*Now that I think of it, the painkillers might make the job more fun.  If she was willing to share them, the entire teaching staff might walk around glowing and telling the kids how much we love them...

*Nah.  That'd scare 'em.  We probably should remain our regular grumpy selves.

*My other Teaching Assistant is sick.  But she's coming in anyway because she is dedicated to the job.

*And is maybe also hoping to spread the plague so that some of the kids will be absent on Friday when she is out for a training and I am left all alone to bravely keep the children from setting fires or running illegal gambling operations.

*That's nice of her...

*The Absurdly Gi-normous Kitty has a love of running water that is bordering on obsessive.

*Specifically, he seems to enjoy water that is running in a downward trajectory.

*Draining tubs.  Draining sinks.  He finds them fascinating.

*Recently, he has decided to learn how to flush the toilet.  That is the mother of all water-runners.

*Mostly he can't get enough leverage to pull it off.  That's good.

*Except when he can get enough leverage.  Then it's kind of annoying.

*It is also sometimes a little startling since I am the only one here who actually uses the toilet and because I don't really have any experience with toilets flushing when I am in the living room.

All that whooshin' water...I finds it soothin'.

*Hopefully this hobby will be as short lived as the cabinet exploration expeditions and the inexplicable need to remove the crumb tray from the toaster oven every night around midnight.  He has a short attention span.  Something else will catch his eye and I can stop shooing him away from the toilet.

*I hope.

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!  Hope it was a good one for you.  If you need me, I'll be over here knitting away on the "dishcloth" and keeping my cat off the toilet.  Enjoy the downward slide towards the weekend!

Just make sure that the teaching assistant does not pass along her cooties to you!

I'm sure AGK will find something else to entertain himself with soon. After all - he is a boy, and we know how solid the attention span of a boy is, don't we?

Are you sure it is the AGK flushing whilst you are in the living room? You don't have a ghost or a zombie?

I have only used about half the magic painkillers (and painkiller enhancers -- who knew there were such things?) that I got for my ankle. For a certain price I would share. Or maybe not. Vicodin goes for something ridiculous like $20/pill on the NYU campus.

Nah, on second thought, I think I will avoid the whole drug dealer thing.

I am completely entertained by the flushing toilet; can you maybe capitalize on it by teaching him to use the toilet *before* flushing it?

I'm still discombobulated from having that four-day weekend, and I'm behind on blogs to boot, sigh... I'm glad that the dishcloth proceeds apace, however.

ROFLOL - and I thought Harley had some weird obsessions.

Love the new dishcloth. Can't wait to see it actually in use . . . in the sink, you know.

He can seriously flush the toilet? Wow!

Does he prefer to drink water that's coming out of the faucet? That to me is usually a warning sign with a boy kitty, since it means they need a steady supply of running water or they won't drink enough and subsequently develop boy kitty problems.

And there's something to be said for scaring your kids. Makes them just a little less likely to step out of line.

I'm trying to picture AGK flushing the toilet without falling in; too funny!

If you want to really fascinate him, get a small fountain. I have one with running water in the living room and the cats have decided it's a good place to drink their daily allotment of water from. I couldn't figure out why the fountain was always gasping for water and then I saw them lapping away. The water dish on the floor is just not as exciting. They love watching the toilet flush, too. Weird.

Speaking of time Whooshing by.. .do you realize it's only SIX WEEKS till Christmas??

I think you should take the flushing as a hint. AGK would like you to toilet train him.

Just to be sure, check the flapper valve on the toilet to see if it is worn and the toilet is flushing itself and entertaining the AGK. Happy after the Hump Day!

I hope the flushing stops before you punch in your next zombie flick...can not imagine how well those will go together!

I agree, if it's the AGK doing the flushing, maximize that! Teach him to use it! One less litterbox...

I think it's AGK trying to make you *think* it's a zombie. When the cat starts intentionally trying to scare you, it's a good idea to just give the kitty whatever he wants.
