I know...it's crazy, right? After missing two straight weeks of my Summer Of Compensatory Knitting Socialization (SOCKS) training, I finally ventured back out into the world. While it felt strange to sit amongst the Tuesday Night Knitters and actually produce an impressive amount of sock, I think it might have been a good thing that I freed myself from the clinging piles of merino that still need to be carded. It has become the center of my woolly world. It is needy fiber. It deserves the attention, no doubt about it. It is worthy and that is not the question at hand. It is just that the merino and I needed a little bit of a break. This is what makes for a healthy relationship.
I heard it on a daytime talk show so it must be true.
And, you know what? I've got a hunch that tonight's sock progress might just result in a finished pair if I can just focus a bit here. To that end, I'm going with a little bit of a "cheat" tonight. But it's an interesting one and something I've saved for just this sort of situation: a need to knit and a lack of blog topics! B. tagged me with this one a while back and I rather like it. As is my wont, I shall leave it to you to decide if you'd like to pay it forward. Feel free to call yourself, "tagged" if you wanna give it a go. The idea is the sharing of blogging tips. You get to add that one thing to the list that has made the blogging process a rich and rewarding experience, as only the time spent staring at a glowing screen and trying to guess what the person to whom you have just left a comment revealing your deepest, most darkest secret might actually look like can do. If you want to play, just copy the text and run with it!

It’s very simple. When this is passed on to you, copy the whole thing, skim the list and put a * star beside those that you like. (Check out especially the * starred ones.)
Add the next number (1. 2. 3. 4. 5., etc.) and write your own blogging tip for other bloggers. Try to make your tip general.
After that, tag 10 other people. Link love some friends!
Just think - if 10 people start this and the 10 people pass it on to another 10 people, you have 100 links already!

13. Write with the reader in mind. Things that may make sense to you may be unclear or even offensive to others. Remember: the written word doesn't convey inflection, tone or subtle intent in the way that the spoken word can! http://www.sheepishannie.blogspot.com

Have at it, you wild, crazy and oh-so-wise bloggers! I'll be huddled on the couch knitting like the wind. I got me the knit-a-plain-stockinette-sock fever, people!

oh I like those tips.
I must say I've never figured out the 'replying to comments' thing. I like to reply when someone has asked a question, said something particularly nice or flattering, but beyond that, no.
is that rude?
I certainly don't expect responses to every comment I leave, esp the ones where I just say, 'hey that scarf looks beautiful.'
Your tip is very good, SA. The same thing could be said for emails.
You be a knittin' machine, Sheepie. Watch dem needles BURN!
You're not knitting with bamboo needles, are you?
Well, I might actually make it to Tuesday night next week. If I'm not too exhausted, that is.
I think I might need to knit something plain soon, too. Other than a dishcloth.
Can't wait to see the sock progress. And the needy fiber progress. I'm mulling over getting a set of hand carders or combs - then again, would I be getting over my head?
Hey, that was good.. I'm gonna check out some of those blogs today :) But when, oh WHEN is blogger ever gonna let us reply to the comments????
Tag you're it. Hint: http://mrichme.edublogs.org/2007/08/08/tag-im-it/
PS - Glad you are getting enough FIBRE during SOCKS.
