One Week Ago...

There aren't a whole bunch of Mondays that The Sheep can remember as clearly as the one that wandered my way 7 short days ago. Regular readers (and I may even be into double digits now) will recall that I was twitching about on my sofa with a fever of 105 waving to Grammy in the light. It was a bad day.

And yet, how often does good come from the truly ugly? Well...probably not all that often, but I can say that I salvaged something from that horrible morning. Due to my inability to function behind the wheel thanks to the fried brain cells I was able to do my "blog trolling" early in the day. Juno was looking to sell off some her stash and The Sheep was one of the lucky few to stop by early enough to snag some sock yarn. You may have seen the photo on Juno's site, but here it is in it's new home:

3 skeins of Koigu...all for little old me!
The color is a tad off...it's really more on the green side. I'm sure that the good folks at Koigu Wool Designs have their own name for the color, but, to me, it will always be known as "Spike" after the fever surge that led to my procuring it!
So now, I'm fighting the urge to start another pair of socks. I know I said I'd take a break for the sake of the wrists, but I'm not sure I can resist the siren song of the sock. Does anyone else hear it? It's such a sweet, seductive melody...so...hard...to...fight...
And I'm weak right now. I made it back into work for another fun-filled day of public education. I'm feeling pretty good; the pain level is low and I almost took one whole deep breath today (that was something of an error in judgment, but still...), but I'm absolutely wiped out. It was pointed out to me that I came back to work a bit sooner than I should have and I know that there was a price to pay for that. I was kind of hoping that I could resume my workouts this week, but I am really tuckered out. It's so nice to know that I shall soon be celebrating my 41st year on this planet in the body of a 90 year old woman. Super...just what I was hoping for. I'm going to take this week off from the exercise routine and try again next week when I have a bit more recovery time under my belt. Of course, this means that I shall have to forgo the healing power of the doughnuts that so sustained me over the weekend...
Maybe I'll try the stationary bike tomorrow...you know...just to see how it goes. Them doughnuts was awful good.....

What are you thinking, Sheep? Stationary bike? This soon after p-new-monia? Ummm...I'd wait a little while. As Trek said, you don't want to relapse.

So glad to hear you're on the mend at last, but go easy on the exercise. What I don't understand is how you managed to keep up with your wonderfully witty blogging whilst you were so ill (but v. glad you did!)

Be careful. Take it easy. Relapsing is always a bad thing.
